Description

To facilitate the provision of a significant new tourism use in the form of a new micro-distillery use in the existing vacant St. James's Church together with a newly constructed visitors' centre.

Our Role

Tom Phillips + Associates provided strategic planning advice regarding the proposed planning application from inception including a detailed overview of current statutory planning guidance relating to the site and an analysis of the site’s planning history.
As a Protected Structure immediately adjoining an archaeological zone, the site was considered sensitive in planning terms and required a multi-disciplinary team to ensure all potential impacts were addressed.
Tom Phillips + Associates liaised closely with Dublin City Council at the pre-planning stage and co-ordinated and managed the lodgement of the planning application. The Practice also advised in relation to the Request for Further Information that issued in relation to conservation issues.

Planning Outcome

Dublin City Council granted Planning Permission in December 2014.
