ILAC Centre

Location    Henry Street/Moore Street, Dublin 1

The ILAC Centre is one of Ireland’s best known retail destinations and occupies a prime trading position alongside Henry Street in Dublin City Centre. With a mix of national, international and speciality retailers, the redeveloped ILAC Centre has played a key role in increasing the attractiveness of the wider Henry Street/O’Connell Street area as a prime shopping location and hosts 17 millions visitors per annum. The Dublin Central development site is bounded by O’Connell Street, Henry Street, Moore Street and Parnell Street. The site has been assembled by Chartered Land since 2003.

A substantial refurbishment of the ILAC shopping centre was completed in 2008. It consists of 27,084 sq m (291,530sq.ft) of retail space excluding anchors and connected to 1,000 car spaces. ILAC is anchored by Dunnes Stores and Debenhams. Planning permission for a 53,864sq m (579,700sq.ft) retail-led mixed use regeneration of the Dublin Central site was subsequently granted in March 2010. Tom Phillips + Associates (TPA) provided strategic planning advice to Chartered Land Management Limited & Irish Life Assurance plc and served as the Agent for the c. 50 No. applications lodged since 2002. Our role as Planning Consultant included the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), Retail Impact Statement (RIS), Planning Reports, Planning Opinions, Retail Reports and compliance submissions. Planning permission has been granted in every application lodged to date.
