Planning permission for an Integrated Waste Management Facility (3,772 sq m) including the biological treatment of municipal and non-hazardous industrial wastes, as well as the storage of hazardous waste.
The project also includes a Composting and Anaerobic Digestion facility with Combined Heat and Power (CHP) generation for use on site.
Tom Phillips + Associates (TPA) provided strategic planning advice to the Applicant and Design Team and served as the Agent for the Planning Application and subsequent Appeal Stage.
TPA also held S.37 Consultations with An Bord Pleanála to determine whether the proposal might qualify as Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) due to the hazardous component of the proposal.
The project involved detailed planning assessment and peer-review of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) as well as preparation and coordination of SID Submissions, RFI Responses and Response to Third Party Appeals.
Cork County Council issued a Notification of Decision to Grant permission on 30th May 2011 following lodgement of further information on 21st April 2011.
A First Party Response to Third Party Appeals was lodged with An Bord Pleanála (ABP) on 20th July 2011 and a Final Grant of Planning Permission issued on 27th February 2013.
