Development of an Anaerobic Digestion facility - with Combined Heat and Power Plant and upgrade and expansion of Composting Facility - to provide complete separation of wastes comprising animal by-products. Permission also sought to expand EWC Code Waste Types permissible.
Tom Phillips + Associates (TPA) also prepared a corporate presentation providing a 3D illustrated guide detailing the nature of the processes carried out on site.

Our Role

TPA provided strategic planning advice to the Applicant and Design Team, and served as the Agent for all Planning Applications. TPA prepared all planning documentation for the Application, RFI and Appeal stages, including detailed Planning Reports, and part-preparation and peer-review of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

We continue to act as planning advisers to Ormonde Organics to further enhance the development and operation of the facility in line with the Client’s goals.

Planning Outcome

Waterford County Council issued a Final Grant of Planning permission for an expansion of permissible EWC Code Waste Types on 16th April 2012.
Waterford County Council granted permission for the Anaerobic Digestion facility, with CHP and expansion of Composting Facility, on 5th April 2012. A Condition of that permission was amended on 23rd April 2012, and a Final Grant was issued on 8th May 2012. A Financial Contribution only Appeal was also made to An Bord Pleanála, which successfully reduced levies payable. An amended Final Grant issued on 6th February 2013.
