Description

Belvedere College S.J. is a school for boys founded in 1832 and located in the heart of Dublin city.

Our Role

Tom Phillips + Associates (TPA) provided strategic planning advice to Belvedere College S.J. on two applications for planning permission.
Application No. 1 was for permission for the development of its sports’ grounds on a site of 2.254 hectares (5.569 acres) at Distillery Road, Dublin 3. The development consists of the construction of: a synthetic all-weather pitch; associated fencing and ball-stopping nets; and for all other associated site excavation, infrastructural and site development works above and below ground.
Application No. 2 is related to the repositioning and resurfacing of the existing grass pitch and associated training area to provide a synthetic all-weather surface; associated fencing and ball-stopping nets; provision of 6 No. 16 metre high floodlighting standards; alterations, reconfiguration and improvements to the existing car park, including the provision of additional car parking spaces and bicycle parking; the widening of the existing vehicular entry point off Distillery Road to allow for two-way traffic (including the provision of new gates); the removal of a restrictive Condition relating to an earlier permission; and all other associated site excavation, infrastructural and site development works above and below ground.

Planning Outcome

Application No. 1: Dublin City Council issued a Final Grant on the 29th April 2015. Application No. 2: Dublin City Council issued a Final Grant on 8th July 2015.
