777 Restaurant

John Farrell

South Great George’s Street, Dublin 2

June 2011 – November 2011

777 is a Mexican restaurant/cocktail bar located at Unit 7 Castle House, Nos. 73-83 South Great George’s Street, Dublin 2. The restaurant draws on the bold flavours and vibrant colours of Mexico City to offer creative, accessible cuisine in the heart of Dublin.

Our Role

Tom Phillips + Associates (TPA) provided strategic planning advice during the feasibility stage to the Design Team and served as the Agent for the Planning Application. The proposed development consisted of a change of use from existing retail to a licensed restaurant, including amendments to the internal layout of the premises and provision of extraction and intake plant to the rear of the premises.
As part of the Application, TPA conducted a 'Retail Health Check Analysis' of ground floor uses on the street, having regard to the Retail Planning Guidelines 2005 and Dublin City Council’s Development Plan policies regarding restaurant use. The analysis illustrated that the restaurant would contribute positively to the street’s vibrancy and vitality particularly in light of the extent of vacant premises on South Great George's Street.

Planning Outcome

Dublin City Council granted Planning Permission for the proposed development in October 2011.
